How Much Will Your Project Cost?
Our cost is determined by many factors, starting with the species of wood. Because of the exotic nature and rarity of mesquite, larger sizes sell for about $14.00 to $25.00 per board foot.
Ponderosa pine sells for about $3.00 to $7.00 board foot. Our pricing is also determined by the hours of manual labor involved in production and by the complexity of design.
Materials such as sand paper, tools, finishing oils, epoxy, and inlay materials such as turquoise determine price. Mesquite is a very dense hard wood, and working with it often damages or even breaks tools like chisels and carving gouges. Finally, shipping is the last factor in determining the price.
All of these constitute the guidelines we use to come up with our pricing.
For local custom work, usually we will meet with clients and discuss their desires and then visit their home to see where a project will be installed. There we determine the measures that need to be taken for a successful installation. If the client is from a remote location then communication is established via telephone or email to come up with project dimensions, and what the client desires. So for custom work, both local and remote clients go through a bidding process to determine a price.
No two trees are alike and we have never had two jobs be exactly alike, and this applies even more so to work of a custom nature.
Once a price is agreed upon and established, then ½ of the total is required up front to commence work. The other half is required at the time of completion before the work is shipped. For items we have for sale, all pricing is listed under their corresponding photos with shipping to be included additionally. Shipping costs are determined based on the size and weight of each project, determined destination, and method of transportation.
